LANCASTER and District Choral Society has started rehearsing for its winter performance of Haydn’s Missa Sancti Nicholai and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria on Saturday, December 8, at Lancaster Priory and is keen to recruit new singers.
The four part choir of around 60 members wants to augment its choral ranks for its new season, which also features Mozart's Requiem as the main work in the choir's spring concert on April 6 at Lancaster Town Hall's Ashton Hall.
Rehearsals are held at the University of Cumbria Chapel, Bowerham Rd, Lancaster, on Mondays from 7pm-9.30pm.
Other works in the winter concert will be Parry’s glorious I Was Glad and Best Pair of Sirens and John Tavener’s haunting Song for Athene.
