DRAMA, music, spoken word, comedy and film, all play their respective parts in what promises to be another great autumn of entertainment at the Old Laundry.

The laughs begin when comedy historian Robert Ross - regarded as a one-man encyclopedia of British comedy - takes the audience behind the scenes of the Carry On film franchise, a true comedy institution, on Thursday, September 20 (8pm), at the Old Laundry's Laundrama Studio.

The fun continue on Friday and Saturday, September 28/29 (7.30pm) with The Wedding Reception, when Will and Kate are expecting a small and intimate party to celebrate their wedding – but Kate’s Mum had other ideas! Cue uninvited guests, misbehaving family and secrets better left in the closet. Devised, written and produced by Interactive Theatre International, the show is a two-hour theatrical dining experience, where the audience become guests at the couple's surprise wedding reception.

Come Saturday, October 6 (7.30pm) and the world class pairing of pianist, Martin Roscoe, and violinist, Tasmin Little, share the Bowness theatre's stage.

With an extraordinary career spanning over four decades, Martin is unarguably one of the UK’s best-loved pianists, equally at home in concerto, recital and chamber performances. Tasmin has firmly established herself as one of today’s leading international violinists. She has performed on every continent in some of the most prestigious venues of the world and also enjoys a very active recital life, performing at all the major festivals and venues throughout the United Kingdom including BBC broadcast recitals from The Wigmore Hall and Cheltenham Festival.

Their programme includes Schubert's Sonatina in A minor, Beethoven's Sonata in F major Spring, and Elgar's Sonata in E minor.

The day after (Sunday, October 7, 4pm) is the Peter Cropper Concert, featuring string players Fenella Humphreys and Jessica Burroughs, joining Martin Roscoe in a special performance dedicated to the brilliant violinist and great friend of the Old Laundry, Peter Cropper, who died in 2015.

Friday, October 12 (7.30pm) is movie night at the Old Laundry's Laundrama Studio, celebrating the 40th anniversary of Grease with three course meal and cocktail.

One of the cornerstones of the Old Laundry's autumn season is the annual visit of the talent performers from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. This year LAMDA productions will be Patrick Marber's Three Days in the Country, The Treatment by Martin Crimp and Noel Coward's Design for Living, staged on three consecutive days from Thursday, October 18.

Esk Valley Theatre Company performs Bill Manhoff's classic American comedy The Owl and The Pussycat on Friday and Saturday, October 26/27.

Joking Apart and Better Off Dead are Stephen Joseph Theatre's contribution to the Old Laundry's 2018 season.

Once more, written and directed by the master himself, Alan Ayckbourn, the must-see shows play on alternate dates between Wednesday, October 31 and Saturday, November 10.

November's line-up features award-winning Box Tale Soup's version of Oscar Wilde's haunting story of evil, debauchery and scandal, A Picture of Dorian Grey, on Thursday, November 15 (7.30pm) with puppetry and a powerful original soundtrack.

Dyad Productions stage a radical new interpretation of the HG Wells classic The Time Machine on Friday, November 16 (7.30pm) and

and the red hot rhythms of the breathtaking Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers: Tribe provide sumptuous soundscapes on Sunday, November 18 (7.30pm) and Skerryvore's feelgood fusion of folk rock will reverberate around the Bowness theatre on Tuesday, November 20 (7.30pm).

Also among the theatre's November treats will be some of the hottest contemporary fiddle players around. Blazin' Fiddles' Jenna Reid, Bruce MacGregor, Rua Macmillan and Kristan Harvey are joined by Anna Massie on guitar and fiddle and pianist, Angus Lyon, delivering a musically intoxicating evening on Friday, November 30 (7.30pm).

Onwards to December 21-22, and A Christmas Carol is the Old Laundry's festive offering.
