NORTHERN Sky release their first album Leap Of Faith today (Friday, November 23) and are playing a launch show at Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre tonight in the Warehouse Cafe. The band were formed in 2013 by vocalist Abby Harman and guitarist John Osborne. In 2015 they were joined by Martin Kirton on percussion, Amy Beeton on cello and Lucy Johnson on vocals.

Their first upload to BBC Introducing, Catch The Light, became Radio Cumbria’s Track Of The Week and every upload since has had significant airplay.

A first single At Christmas Time was released worldwide on all formats in 2016, followed by Heaven Here in September 2018. Live, the band make great use of the power of harmony, soaring cello and guitar arpeggios that have wowed audiences across the north and sell-out shows across Cumbria. They have also supported Mark Chadwick of The Levellers and Glastonbury award-winners The Travelling Band.

However, in 2012, the aftermath of the financial crash left both Kip and Dave facing redundancy. But they saw it though as a one-off opportunity and decided to take a chance and turned professional.
