THE next guests of Kendal Midday Concert Club are the highly rated players of the Magnard Ensemble's wind quintet, gracing the top notch fortnightly concert series on Wednesday, January 23.

The wind quintet is at the core of the ensemble. It was formed in 2012 and has since built a reputation for high quality performances and dynamic educational projects. The quintet's work varies from formal recital and concert appearances to education and community work with children of all ages, and everything in between.

The ensemble made its international debut at the Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne, Switzerland. The players all follow their own professional performing careers, appearing as soloists, chamber musicians and with orchestras that include the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Southbank Sinfonia, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the BBC orchestras and major UK opera orchestras.

The Magnard has and ongoing large-scale project entitled Revolting Rhymes and Marvellous Music with a cd available, based on the work of Roald Dahl.

Following on from the Magnard are violinist Daniel Rowland and pianist Natacha Kudritskaya, playing the Kendal Town Hall series on Wednesday, February 6. Since meeting at the Kuhmo Festival in 2011, the two hugely talented musicians have played at festivals across the world and they're regarded as two of the most exciting, adventurous and colourful artists performing today.

KMCC performances start at 1pm. Snack lunches available from 11.50am.
