Bowness Bay Blues has today announced the full programme for its weekender (April 12-14) featuring three days of the live blues music across ten venues in the town.

It wil include the popular Blues Cruise, which takes place on the largest lake in England surrounded by the majestic Lakeland Fells and features the soulful lyrics and blues of Sean Webster.

The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Windermere and, for 2019, with support from the Lakes Hospitality Trade Show, Macbeth Scott & Co, ADL Architects and Mountain Goat.

Each year funds raised from ticket sales and sponsorship are donated to two chosen charities, this year; the Alzheimers Society and the MS Society.

Festival Highlights include:

* US blues stars The Billy Walton Band will be travelling from the shores of New Jersey to the shores of Windermere. Complete with horn section they will take festival-goers on a journey covering all that’s great about the American rock and blues landscape. They perform on April 12.

* Rev Doc, who now lives in Ireland, will be return to England for the first time in ten years with his band Rev Doc and the Flying Squad.

* The Stumble and Catfish with support from Northsyde and  own Cumbrian band Five and Dangerous

* Storrs Hall Hotel is taking part again with its namesake New Orleans style pianist Dale Storr who will be making use of the htoel's own baby grand piano.

* Connie Lush, one of the finest blues singers in the UK, will headline at the Wheelhouse

* The Blues Cruise will featuresinspiring guitarist, vocalist and song writer Sean Webster

The weekender also features modern troubadour Sean Taylor, Mat Walklate and Alex Haynes duo, Mike Ross Band, Dean Newton Trio, from the Jar family L.J.Darley, Blank Canvas, Bullfrog, Soulway, Jackson Rox, Samuel Bolton.

Andd Bowness Bay Blues would not be the same without The Elderly Brothers who have given their services free for the past eight years.
