LEVENS Quilters hold its popular quilt show at Kendal Rugby Club, Shap Road, on Saturday (June 22, 10am-5pm) and Sunday (10am-4pm). Behind every item in the highly respected group's exhibition there is a story. Altogether, 126 works will be on display, including quilts, wall hangings, cushions, bags and other items. The quilters have been meeting since 1991 and have made quilts for Romanian orphanages, Helme Chase Maternity Unit, London Olympics, Asda’s pink quilt for cancer, Project Linus and Levens Hall, to celebrate the tercentenary of its topiary garden.
