CHEERS, screams and the heavy thud of drums will replace hushed voices when hardcore band The Blackout play at Lancaster Library in the new year.

Welsh six-piece The Blackout have collected a dedicated following of fans over the past few years and are only the third unsigned band ever to sell out the London Astoria.

The Merthyr Tydfil boys will set out on the Kerrang tour in January but first they will bring their guitar heavy hardcore anthems to Lancaster Library on January 20 following its £50,000 Lottery refurbishment.

The award-winning Get It Loud In Libraries scheme has brought some huge acts to north Lancashire, including Florence and the Machine, Juliette and the Licks and Mercury Music Prize winner Speech Debelle.

GILIL founder Stewart Parsons has recently been commissioned by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council to roll out the project across the UK.

Tickets are available from: www.seetickets.com and www.Lancashiretickets.com or from the library.
