KENDAL Town have announced their pre-season schedule, which begins with a Friday night home fixture against Carlisle United on Friday, July 5.

The squad will meet up again on Thursday, June 27, the week before the match against League One Carlisle, which kicks off at 7.30pm.

The Black and Whites have replaced Workington as Barrow’s Coral Cup opponents this season, and the first of the two-legged ties takes place at Parkside Road on Saturday, July 13.

The return leg at Holker Street is on Tuesday, July 23, but sandwiched between those games are trips to Penrith on Wednesday, July 17, and FA Vase winners Spennymoor Town on Saturday, July 20 in the North East.

Two more home ties will follow, with Kendal entertaining FC United of Manchester on Saturday, July 27 and Workington Reds the visitors to Parkside Road on Saturday, August 10.

One or two more friendlies against local opposition could yet be organised according to club secretary Craig Campbell, who will meet with manager Steve Edmondson on Tuesday night where the pair hope to sign ‘around four or five players’ for next season.

The Evo-Stik First Division North campaign begins on Saturday, August 17.

Kendal and Darlington have already agreed to play their league games against each other on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26, with the return match at Parkside Road on New Year’s Day.
