Netherfield 129-5

Kendal 72

Netherfield won by 57 runs

Twenty-20 Cup

A GREAT all-round performance from Netherfield saw them comfortably beat Auld Grey rivals Kendal to win the right to host Twenty20 Finals Day on Sunday, July 7.

Parkside Road was packed to the rafters as Ben Barrow was unbeaten on 53 from 40 balls, having put on a 54-run second wicket partnership with Criag Walmsley, to put the home team firmly in the driving seat.

Walmsley had a knock of 38 from 31 balls before he was caught by Chris Miller off Stu Parkin to leave Field 55-2.

An inspired 3-17 from Greg Hall, which included a beauty of a yorker on Kendal’s Nick Lewthwaite, helped bowl Kendal all out for 72, although Marc Hadwin, the in-form Nathan Chambers and pro Colin Ackermann were equally as clinical with the ball.

Marc Brown took a brilliant one-handed catch to dismiss Jack White for three off Chambers as the home side’s fielding performance backed up their bowling, and they were able to see off Kendal to host the money-spinning day in two weeks.
