A SPORTS marathon will take place at Kendal Ladies Hockey Club on Saturday, July 13 to help raise funds for the club.
Following their promotion to the Invetec Conference North Women’s Hockey League, Kendal are looking for sponsorship, funds and players to help in the next campaign, so the ‘Sport-athon’ has been arranged as the hockey squad looks to play teams at their own sports.
At 10am, the ladies will play the Kendal Men’s team at Queen Katherine School, before a junior hockey match takes place at 11am.
They will then play Kendal Town Ladies football team in a football match at 12pm, before playing Kendal’s netball team at their sport and tag rugby against Kendal Ladies rugby team at 2.30pm.
The aim of the day is also to raise the profile of female sport, and the family day will include a barbeque, bouncy castle and bar provided by Romney’s among other stalls.
