THE Kendal Calling music festival has sold out for the eighth successive year.

Festival organisers made the announcement this afternoon ahead of the three-day event, set to be held this weekend.

Promoter Ben Robinson said: “Big love from everyone on the Kendal Calling team to all those attending this year’s event.

“We can't wait for the show to begin, we have some reals treats and surprises in store for you all on site.”

Organisers also announced that this year, for the first time, the festival will be streamed live online through Dailymotion.

Mr Robinson added: “We are extremely excited about our first live stream and we have some amazing content coming to everyone’s homes!”

Marc Eychenne, head of international content at Dailymotion, said: “2013 is the Summer of Festivals on Dailymotion – building on the 50 million hours of live music we have already streamed – and Kendal Calling is one of the leading events we are showing.”

Hundreds of acts will be performing over the weekend including Primal Scream, Basement Jaxx, The Charlatans, Public Enemy, Seasick Steve and Johnny Marr.
