ON MONDAY, August 4, the British Legion is asking everyone to turn off their lights and leave on a single candle to mark the 100th anniversary of the date Britain entered World War I.
The Windermere Air Training Cadets will hold a candlelit vigil at the War Memorial between 9pm-10pm that evening, hoping to light a candle for every one of the 132 men from Windermere and Bowness who lost their lives in the conflict.
All are welcome to attend.
