THERE were dramatic scenes in Milnthorpe as a tractor became embedded in a shop front.
Police were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision at 9.26am today (Tuesday, December 23) to find a tractor had struck a car before careering into the shop window of Bell Clothing on Beetham Road.
The incident took place at the crossroads where Beetham Road and Church Street meet the A6 - a notoriously accident prone spot - and involved a black Renault Clio, driven by an 80 year old woman from Milnthorpe, and a Massey Ferguson tractor, driven by a 21 year old man from Kendal.
An eye witness told the Gazette that six police cars and a fire crew attended the scene.
Nobody was injured but traffic was delayed while the incident was cleared, it is believed traffic is now flowing freely.
