A WINDERMERE hotel worker is to get a taste of the high life after landing work experience at one of the world’s most iconic hotels.
Jacob Devlin, 25, will spend a week at The Dorchester Hotel, London - a favourite choice of celebrities, world leaders and royalty- in January. The visit has been organised by James Tasker, joint owner of The Lamplighter Dining Rooms, where Jacob has worked as a junior manager for the last three years.
Jacob said: “Hopefully I can bring a lot of skills back with me, not only to improve myself but also to pass on to the rest of the team. Obviously here we keep up with the trends but it will be to a completely different degree in somewhere like The Dorchester.
“Going to London has always been something I’ve wanted to do and I’m so excited. I'm also nervous, but I'd be worried if I wasn't.
“I know I just have to go in with an open mind and remember my key skills, but remember that I’m working at a level that I’ve never experienced before.”
