RUGBY: Keswick RUFC may feel as though they have been swimming against the tide for too long as they wrestle with the after-effects of the major flooding of 2005.
But they continue to cope remarkably well with extreme adversity, especially in keeping their youth section afloat.
At the weekend they won their delayed National RU Under 17 Bowl Competition semi-final against Birmingham club Woodrush 20-10 and now look forward to an outing in the finals on May 6.
Their opponents then will be Cobham from Surrey and the venue will be Worcester RFC.
Keswick's win makes them the third northern club to have made it to Worcester. They will be joined by Caldy (Under-17 Shield) and Altrincham Kersal (Under-17 Cup).
l Kendal won the Cumbria Cup final, beating Carlisle 21-11 at Penrith's ground on Saturday.
l Upper Eden Boars comfortably beat Barnard Castle 21-5 at Barnard Castle in an end of season friendly.
