DAWN to Dusk and in Between is a new exhibition running at The Old Courthouse in Shap, featuring stunning landscape photography by Michael Grolys and Patrick Neaves.

Michael lives and works in the Eden Valley. His main focus and passion is to capture images which convey the striking landscapes of the north of England and Scotland - the changing seasons, highly variable weather and dramatic light.

He spends as much time as possible outdoors walking the hills and mountains with his labradors and they feature in many of his photographs. He uses a combination of Canon DSLR’s and Sony Alpha CSC/Full Frame cameras (for long days in the hills when he doesn’t want to carry lots of kit).

Shap-based Patrick grew up in the West Country, and says he was fortunate enough to spend most of his childhood exploring the woods and climbing the hills close to his home and also around Dartmoor and the Brecon Beacons.

In the following years, a passion for both wild landscapes and photography grew. Coming to live in this corner of the old county of Westmorland, close to the fells and dales of Cumbria, has allowed him the opportunity to explore this beautiful area and endeavour to capture its presence and character throughout the seasons.

Patrick currently teaches photography, Photoshop and website design within adult education in Cumbria.

Dawn to Dusk and in Between runs until May 14.

The Old Courthouse is located on Shap's Main Street.
