A KENDAL duo will be launching a podcast to sit alongside the town's annual international comic art festival.

Ian Loxam and Nicole Bates are the couple behind House of Geek, a show that talks about the 'best in geek culture'.

On March 1 they will launch their latest offering, the official Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast.

The show will see the couple interviewing some of the biggest names in comic art, including The Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard and DC artist Sean Philips.

A new episode will come out every month, with big names discussing their careers as well as the renowned comic festival.

"We also want to show off Kendal as a town and every episode will feature an original track from a local artist," Ian said. "Sean Moore and the bands Solomon and Blue Harvest are already involved but we are open to applications from any local band or singer with original music."

Julie Tate, festival director, said: "We're really pleased that a local couple who have supported the festival since day one have taken this on as a project with great enthusiasm, great ideas and a really appropriate style as well.

"They really are geeks in the nicest sense of the word! We have wanted to develop a podcast for some time so even better that it is created through passion by two people who know and understand the festival and have its best interests at heart."
