KENDAL couple Shane Lambert and Lauren Pearson and their baby girl Elise are experiencing the benefits of moving into a new-build home.

The first-time buyers had been renting in town and wanted to stay close to friends and family living nearby. Shane, who works at James Cropper, and Lauren, a hairdresser, viewed the new Story Homes development at Ash Tree Park, Kendal, and bought a three-bedroom semi-detached house off-plan. Just weeks after moving into their new home, their baby was born.

Shane said he and Lauren knew they didn't want to buy an older property that needed any work. "While buying our house we found out that we were expecting our little girl," he said, "so buying this home was perfect, giving us the time to spend together as a family, and we needed the extra space our three-bedroom home offers us.

"We love all the rooms in our home but our favourite is the family kitchen and dining area at the back which has bi-folding doors so we can really bring the outdoors in.

“We are enjoying living in our new home as it offers us the right amount of space and being brand new means we can concentrate on being a family rather than having to do any DIY that you would need to do in an older home."

More than 35 homes are already occupied at the 71-property Ash Tree Park. To find out more, see sales executive Jane on site Thursday-Monday, 10.30am-5.30pm, or visit www.storyhomes.co.uk
