Give More Love: Ringo Starr (Capitol Records).
Ringo Starr has been releasing records for years - this is the former Beatle's 19th solo album.
And even at the age of 77 he can still produce an enjoyable new set of songs.
On Give More Love he is joined by a stellar cast of collaborators, including Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter, Timothy B. Schmidt, Don Was and one of my favourite guitrarists Peter Frampton.
Opening track We're On The Road Again is a feel-good song about the joys of being in a band, while Laughable and Speed Of Sounds both feature Frampton, who even plays his famous talk box on the latter.
Electricity features some great guitarwork from Joe Walsh, and the album has several pleasant country-tinged tracks too.
Other highlights include new versions of former Ringo hits, including Photograph and You Can't Fight Lightning, the latter featuring Anglo-Swedish rock band Alberta Cross.
The album is released on September 15.
