To help mark the 200th anniversary of The Westmorland Gazette in 2018, we shall be publishing a photograph from the newspaper's archives on this website every day this year.
The first picture shows Blue Bird K4 at Coniston. Blue Bird K4 was a powerboat commissioned in 1939 by Sir Malcolm Campbell.
It set one world water speed record on August 19, 1939 on Coniston Water.
