FOUR in ten of us are more likely to crank up the heating for visitors, rather than family, according to a survey by CORGI HomePlan.
The company questioned 2,000 people in South Lakeland and north Lancashire and found that 48 per cent of women turn up the thermostat for house guests, compared to 38 per cent of men.
One in five 18-to-24-year-olds give priority to the warmth and comfort of a pet over people.
