A PARAGLIDER suffered a broken ankle when he fell three metres after his parachute stalled while taking off from the summit of Ingleborough.

The adventure-seeker was aided by a passing walker to slide down from the summit before being treated by members of Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation and a Yorkshire Ambulance paramedic. He was carried the rest of the way to a stretcher to a CRO vehicle for onward transport to Ingleton.

It happened at around 4pm on February 5.
