A MAN is reported to have threatened a staff member with a carving knife at a Kirkby-in-Furness post office.
Police are appealing for information following a robbery at the School Road post office at around 10am this morning (March 2).
A man is reported to have entered the main Post Office and threatened one of the counter staff with a carving knife. No-one was injured.
The suspect is described as white, 6‘2” tall, of slim build, and wearing dark clothing. It is believed he left the scene on foot.
Detective Sergeant Mike Wallace said: “Officers were deployed and arrived at the scene with minutes, and I can reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to locate this offender.
“Numerous lines of enquiry are on-going and additional police attention will be paid to other Post Office’s in the coming days.
“We urge anyone with any information – no matter how small they think it may be – to come forward and contact us on 101, asking to speak to Barrow CID.”
