A SEARCH for new recruits has been launched by a leading housebuilder.

Persimmon Homes Lancashire has joined a national drive to bring more people into the construction industry.

The three-month “Attract” campaign by the Home Builders Skills Partnership aims to show, through adverts and social media, the wide range of jobs available to young people, those changing career, and former members of the armed forces.

“The Government estimates the UK needs to build 300,000 new homes every year to keep up with national demand,” said John Roocroft, managing director of Persimmon Homes Lancashire, “and, at Persimmon, there are many ways to contribute to that target.

“There are career opportunities at all levels in our land and planning, construction, sales, finance and technical teams.

“People joining Persimmon can look forward to a rewarding, varied and worthwhile career with one of the UK’s leading housebuilders.”

The company’s latest developments include Carleton Meadows in Penrith; and St George’s Walk, Lancaster, on the south bank of the River Lune.

Persimmon also has new homes for sale at Solway View, Workington; and at three developments in or near Carlisle - Speckled Wood, named after a British butterfly; Brackenleigh and Tarraby View.

Managing director Mr Roocroft said the company is seeking a graduate planner, land executive/buyer, customer care assistant, trainee sales advisors and a maintenance operative.

“Employees at all levels are part of the Persimmon family and enjoy a real sense that their personal contribution is making a difference – to the company and its customers,” he added.
