Experience the life and times of the English Civil War period this August as the oldest re-enactment society in the world, the Sealed Knot, heads to Ulverston’s Ford Park.

Held on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August, from 11am-4pm, view camp life in the English Civil War - including C17th skills, crafts and fine dining demonstration, pike displays, musket displays, artillery displays and military skirmishes. There will also be birds of prey, donkey rides, family activities and a local food BBQ on the field – ensuring a great day for all the family.

Suzanne Pender, Chair of Ford Park Community Group Trustees, said: "We are proud to welcome the Sealed Knot to Ford Park this summer, supported by Ulverston Business Improvement District (BID).

“The Sealed Knot Charity re-enacts life and events from the period of the English Civil War, travelling all over the country to put on displays for public enjoyment and education. They pride themselves on high standards of authenticity and have an outstanding national reputation.

“We are very excited about this event and hope it will bring new visitors to Ulverston, supporting the local tourist economy, as well as providing something new and different for the community. It would be wonderful to see as many people as possible joining us for what is sure to be a fantastic event.”

Both day and weekend tickets are available, with prices starting at £10 for an adult, £5 for a child and under 5s go free. Tickets are now on sale ONLINE – simply visit https://civil-war-fordpark.eventbrite.co.uk for more information and to book. Please note tickets are non-refundable.
