Plan B has been announced as a new headline act for the 13th sold-out edition of Kendal Calling.

The UK hip-hop and soul star will top the bill on Saturday 28th July, replacing Run DMC.

In statement today, Kendal Calling organisers said: “Time for another first in the Kendal Calling history books.

"At less than a week’s notice we have had to find a new Saturday night headliner and we are delighted to let you know that Plan B will be bringing his Ill Manors rap and soulful Motown vibes to the fields of Kendal Calling.

"It’s with regret that we are not able to host Run DMC at this year’s event. We must hold our hands up, as a scheduling issue only picked up in the last week has left them unable to attend.

"Both the festival and the band pass on their apologies for those who were excited to see the show as we have all been working hard to make this work but it wasn’t to be for 2018.”

"With only a couple of days before we open the gates for the 13th Kendal Calling we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the deer park of dreams as Kendal Calling goes into the future."

Kendal Calling 2018 will mark Plan B’s first festival headline slot since the release of his fourth album, the stunning ‘Heaven Before All Hell Breaks Loose’ in May this year.

Plan B joins Hacienda Classical, Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Libertines at the top of a world class bill of music, comedy, arts and culture spread over four days and 11 stages in Lowther Deer Park.
