THE Buddhist Group of Kendal (Theravada) took part in a retreat to celebrate 30 years since the publication of a book co-written by one of its teachers, Jacquetta Gomes.
Introducing Buddhism was published by the Buddhist Society London in 1988 to accompany its Introducing Buddhism course, which Mrs Gomes also helped to teach.
The book has since been published as far afield as Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Taiwan and the USA. It is available on websites including Google Books and Access to Insight.
The celebratory retreat in Kendal was led by Venerable Pidiville Piyatissa, head of the Ketumati temple in Manchester.
