AVERAGE UK prices hit a record high of £217,010 in July, according to figures.
Across the country, house prices were up by 2.5 per cent annually in July, said Nationwide Building Society. That compared to two per cent in June.
Nationwide's chief economist Robert Gardner said the building society expected house prices to increase by one per cent over the course of 2018.
