Mark Webster has been appointed as the new deputy chief constable of Cumbria Constabulary.
An interview panel, chaired by Chief Constable Michelle Skeer, undertook the rigorous interview for the role.
Mr Webster said: “I am immensely pleased to have been appointed as Deputy Chief Constable. I look forward to continuing to work with such a capable team of people who work immensely hard every day to keep the people of Cumbria safe.”
Police and Crime Commissioner Peter McCall said he was 'delighted'.
