TWO men who travelled by train to Kendal in a bid to peddle class A drugs have each been jailed for more than three years apiece.
Connor Jordan Halliwell and Kieran Sean Howe were detained after stepping off a train at the town's railway station on August 16.
Howe - wearing an electronic curfew "tag" at the time after previous offending - was found in possession of 48 heroin wraps and 29 crack cocaine deals.
While Halliwell only had four wraps of paracetamol on him, Carlisle Crown Court heard the criminal excursion was a joint dealing enterprise which would have yielded a "50-50" split.
A phone in the pair's possession constantly rang after they were caught, and a message on the device was found to read: "On in Kendal, now."
Halliwell and Howe, both aged 25, were sentenced this afternoon having each admitted possessing both heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
Recorder Julie Clemitson handed down 40-month jail terms. Both Halliwell, of West Road, and Howe, of Lime Grove, both Lancaster, had got involved in the criminal activity due to debt, the court heard.
"You were clearly crossing the county line, into Cumbria, in order to supply class A drugs," the judge told them.
