A PLASTIC copper designed to deter speeding drivers in Milnthorpe has been stolen.
The pretend patrolman, nicknamed 'PC Speedy', who had been pointing his radar speed gun at motorists on the Beetham Road entrance to the village, was reported missing last week.
PC Speedy was initially paid for by Milnthorpe Parish Council and first put in place at the end of March.
However, in April the plastic copper had its head removed by vandals, meaning a replacement had to be bought. The replacement was funded through donations from villagers.
