WHINFELL is a glorious spot and I count myself very lucky to live there. But recently, on my daily walks around Whinfell Beacon, I have noticed more and more litter appearing.
Last weekend I took two visiting artist friends up to the masts and we were horrified at the rubbish strewn around the top. We came back down with the boot half full of litter. Mainly beer cans.
I don't know how to stop this happening other than letting whoever is responsible know that this is not acceptable.
If you want to sit up there and drink beer it's fine as long as you take your rubbish away with you.
We need to cherish our beautiful landscape, not pollute it.
