KENDAL Snowsports Club has been given the go-ahead to have six birch trees felled at its Canal Head North site.
In plans submitted to South Lakeland District Council, the skiing and snowboarding venue said the trees were planted 18 years ago as six-feet-high saplings. They are now shading neighbouring gardens and are tall enough to damage houses if they should fall. The club plans to replace the birches with six rowan trees.
