Kendal Town lost 2-1 to table toppers Runcorn Linnets at The St & B Accountants Stadium.
Kendal paid the price for two defensive mistakes in an otherwise dominant performance by The Mintcakes.
Connor McCarthy edged the visitors in front six minutes into the second half and while Scott Harries brought the home team level, Runcorn picked up the spoils after Daniel O'Brien converted a penalty with just ten minutes left on the clock.
Kendal pushed for the equaliser but Runcorn held on to secure the win while Kendal remain one point off the relegation zone in The Evo Stik West League.
