On October 10, two fire engines from Barrow and Ulverston were called out to reports of a road traffic collision at approximately 9pm.
Crews from Barrow and Ulverston were mobilised to Abbey Road, Dalton-in-Furness, when reports came in of a road traffic collision.
Firefighters found the incident to be involving two vehicles with one casualty trapped. The casualty was extricated by fire service personnel using hydraulic cutting equipment, one hose reel and absorbent pads, before being handed to the care of ambulance crews.
An additional casualty was also treated by paramedics at the scene.
The fire service were in attendance for approximately an hour.
Abbey Road is still closed from both sides until the investigation behind the incident is finished.
