KENDAL'S Dance Atikk were invited to perform in a show-stopping extravaganza at Blackpool Winter Gardens Opera House on Saturday.

They were one of 15 dance schools to take part in the 27th annual show called The Blackpool Hits. It is staged to give students the opportunity to experience performing in a live theatre on a professional stage that has been home to many of the world's biggest stars over the years.

Hundreds of young dancers performed glittering dance routines ranging from The Greatest Showman to Dream Girls and West Side Story.

The Dance Atikk took 25 students, aged six to 18, and they performed a high energy Indian dance with a twist of commercial modern thrown in.

“ We are so lucky to be invited to take part in such a wonderful event," said principal Lucy Everett. "The dancers have worked so hard together to bring their different, quirky dance routine to life and shine on the stage. I'm so proud of each and every one of my dancers. We all had a fantastic day ."
