I read the letter 'Accident in waiting' (September 27). I am in full agreement with the writer.

I travel frequently on the 555 Keswick bus and find that it is dreadful coming out from Staveley on to the A591, turning right, which means I often miss connections at Windermere.

I really feel for the bus drivers and drivers of other commercial vehicles who must try to keep to a time schedule and are stuck at that junction and dice with death as they try to make an exit.

It is high time something was done about it - either a roundabout or preferably traffic lights.

Do we have to wait till there is a terrible accident with lives lost? Is life so cheap?
