Motorists are advised to expect delays after a crash involving a lorry has closed the A13 this morning.
The lorry has overturned and other vehicles are involved in the incident, which happened shortly before 9am this morning.
The crash has left the London-bound carriageway blocked at the Stanford-le-Hope bypass between the A176 (Five Bells Interchange) and A1014 (the Manorway).

The road has been closed both ways btwn Manorway and the #A128.

Police and an air ambulance along with other medics are on the scene.
Police confirmed that a lorry was in collision with the central reservation.
Please be aware that local Ensign and Essex buses may be affected by today’s temporary A13 closure. Routes will be diverted via Stanford-le-Hope where possible, but this area is expected to become congested very quickly. Please check with your local providers for more details.

The driver of the lorry has been taken to hospital with a head injury and the road has been closedin both directions between the Manorway (A1089) and the A128.
