Former The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton and Russell Hastings return to Kendal’s The Brewery to perform the classic 1978 album ‘All Mod Cons’ in its entirety. Over the past 11 years From the Jam has toured relentlessly, having played almost 1,000 headline shows in the UK since their inception in 2007. Throughout that time, they’ve gained a reputation for the kind of incendiary live performances that sealed the reputation of The Jam all those years ago. GHOULS and ghosts galore are expected to descend on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway's Ghost Train on the evenings of Friday and Saturday (October 26 & 27). Back with more spooky tricks than ever, our fiendish friends travel the line under darkness so you need to keep your wits about you. Book tickets early if you dare to travel in the creepy carriages, leaving Ravenglass at 4.30pm. A GAGGLE of scary events and entertainment awaits you this Hallowe’en at Muncaster Castle – renowned as one of the most haunted castles in the country. Events such as Muncaster Monster Cabaret with conjuring, aerialists’ shows and fire-eating, featuring Astral Circus, The Fireman Dave and the current Fool of Muncaster, Frumpid. The Scary Meadowvole Maze will be transformed into a dark and spooky otherworld which is not recommended for those with a nervous disposition and for under 12s! There will be Spookukele Stories in the Ghostly Grotto, lantern-making and drumming workshops as well as face-painting. Plus, some of Muncaster’s own Ghost Stories will be told in the churchyard. EDEN Arts The Winter Droving event takes place on Saturday (October 27) from 10am-8pm in Penrith. Kicking off the day is the Cumbrian Food & Craft Market including more than 80 stalls, ranging from vintage buys, traditional crafts, local artists, artisan foods and gifts. A host of activities and entertainment fills the entire day featuring The Drovers Cup (Hay Bale Racing, Pint Pass, Egg Throwing, Tug-O-War), a Fancy Dress for Dogs, street performers, carnival acts and drumming bands, also the Middlegate Stage sees local DJs mixing Northern Soul, Swing, Jazz and funk right into the evening and The Bandstand showcases the very best rock, folk and blues acts. The day culminates in a Torch Parade, starting from St Catherine’s School (6.30pm), the procession of giant animal lanterns and around 200 drovers carrying fire torches will lead the way to Great Dockray and Electric Swing Circus.

Family theatre - Tabby McTat is a cat with a very loud meee-ew and he has a best friend who plays the guitar. Together they sing their favourite songs delighting the crowds, until one day Fred disappears. Separated and alone, Tabby finds shelter and a new life with all the home comforts that any cat could dream of. However, memories of his life with Fred haunt him, and he sets off to search the streets for his long-lost friend.

Interwoven with original songs, Tabby McTat is a heart-warming tale of friendship and loyalty, playing on Wednesday (2pm & 4.30pm) at The Grand, Lancaster.

Hallowe’en Spooky Fun Days on Millerbeck Light Railway (Lakelands Best Kept Secret) – kids just love this railway, especially at this ghoulish time of the year.
