MEMBERS of Kendal Rotary Club have planted hundreds of purple and yellow crocus bulbs at entry and exit points around the town.
They have been carrying out the work since 2012 and to mark the planting of the 100,000th bulb they were congratulated by town mayor Cllr Guy Tirvengadum.
It was initially organised to celebrate and commemorate Rotary’s commitment to the eradication of Polio worldwide which is now almost complete.
Bulbs have been planted on Windermere Road, Burton Road, Parkside Road, Blackhall Road, Shap Road, Milnthorpe Road and this year on Aynam Road.
