A POPPY Trail to remember the Carnforth men who gave their lives in two world wars is being launched.
After detective work by local historian Steve Richmond, a leaflet has been created showing the homes of each soldier, sailor and airman inscribed on the town's war memorial at Market Street.
Brief details of their lives are also included on the free leaflet, produced with Carnforth Town Council to mark 100 years since World War One ended. Each home is marked by a poppy-red circle on the 1918 Ordnance Survey map of the north Lancashire town.
A launch event is taking place at Carnforth Civic Hall on Wednesday (October 31) at 6.30pm. Residents now living at the fallen men's addresses have been invited to raise a glass in their honour.
