UK HOUSE price growth slowed to a five-year low in August, official figures show.
A "sustained slowdown" in the South and East of England is acting as a drag on price rises, reported the Office for National Statistics and the Land Registry.
They said yearly house price growth in the North of England had stayed "broadly stable" in the past two years.
