FAMILIAR faces from North West Tonight will pass through South Lakeland and North Lancashire as they take part in a 100-mile relay walk from Walney to the Wirral to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

Presenters Roger Johnson and Annabel Tiffin will start the Plod for Pudsey relay on November 12 by walking 20 miles passing through Dalton, Lindal, Swarthmoor and Ulverston. They will hand over to Beccy Barr and Richard Askam who will complete the Bolton-le-Sands to Morecambe leg.

The full route detailing which streets the presenters will be walking on and on which days can be viewed online at bbc.co.uk/nwt from Friday November 9. Donations to BBC Children in Need can also be made online.

“BBC Children in Need is my favourite time of the year," said Roger Johnson. "So many people in the North West give generously and it’s a privilege to meet those whose lives are changed.

"Plod for Pudsey will give us chance to meet lots of fundraisers and those who’ve been helped, so I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully we’ll add a few pounds to this year’s total as we walk – and lose a few, too!”
