POLICE are investigating a collision on the A66 by the Embleton and Lorton junctions.
The incident happened at approxiamtely 12.50pm on November 6.
The collision involved a motorcycle, ridden by a 48-year old man from West Cumbria, and a Vauxhall Astra. The car was driven by a woman, aged 24, also from west of the county.
The motorcyclist was flown by air ambulance to hospital in Preston with serious injuries.
The driver of the Astra was not seriously hurt.

The A66 was partly shut from the A5086 Lamplugh Road, Cockermouth Roundabout, to B5291, Dubwath, due to what was believed was an accident.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area following the collision.
