TWO huge green septic tanks trundled through the area last week on their way to the Endmoor Wastewater Treatment Works.
The tanks, which were transported from Shrewsbury by a multi-axle articulated wagon, will form an integral part of the expanded treatment works.
Each tank weighs around four tonnes and can hold 100,000 litres, which is around 22,000 gallons or 14,000 toilet flushes.
A United Utilities spokesperson said the work to increase the centre's capacity was required in order for the facility to cope with the growing population of the village of Endmoor and the surrounding area.
