TRAFFIC was queueing back for four miles on the M6 Southbound due to an accident.

A lorry overturned at approximately 2.30am today just before Junction 34 Bay Gateway, Lancaster.

The lorry was transporting concrete blocks which also fell out on to the motorway.

Recovery of the lorry was completed by 7.20am whilst the M6 Southbound was closed. Emergency repairs were done to the motorway. 

All lanes have now been re-opened (since 8.40am) but traffic is still queueing from Junction 35 A601,Carnforth, to Junction 34.

A Diversion had been set in placed via the A65 and A683 through Kirkby Lonsdale, Tunstall and Caton.
