A CONSULTATION about an area of woodland bought by the public following a high-profile fundraising campaign will be held later this month.
Cumbria Wildlife Trust has taken over the management of Craggy Wood in Staveley and a meeting about its future will take place in the village hall on Thursday November 22, from 3pm to 7pm. The successful fundraising campaign was run by a community steering group
The consultation day will give local people the chance to meet Cumbria Wildlife Trust staff, to plant a tree seedling and to share their views.
“We’d love to meet as many local residents as possible at the consultation day," said Hazel Jones, senior fundraising officer at CWT. "We want to know how people currently use Craggy Wood, why they love it, what they see is its future and whether people can help us look after this special place."
