KATIE Hunter, of chartered surveyors H&H Michael C L Hodgson, has secured her place with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Mrs Hunter, who lives on a beef-and-sheep hill farm in Dentdale, joined the company as an assistant land agent two years ago.

She has successfully passed her exams to become a member of the professional body RICS.

Mrs Hunter takes a keen interest in landlord and tenant matters, and she based her university dissertation on the challenges facing retired tenant farmers.

She hails from a rural background in Lancashire, where she spent 10 years working in the dairy industry.

Mrs Hunter said: "As we head towards Brexit, I now look forward to working with and helping our clients across Cumbria and the Lake District during what are sure to be both challenging and interesting times for the farming industry.”
