A NEWLY-WED couple changed into their wedding outfits at the top of a Lake District fell as part of their big day celebration.

Kristina, 30, and Owen Davis, 33, from London, travelled to Cumbria for their honeymoon and hiked up Lingmoor Fell, Langdale, to create a special moment in one of their favourite places.

The couple hiked up the fell in walking gear carrying their wedding clothes in rucksacks and got changed when they reached the top. After swapping walking boots for wedding shoes Mr and Mrs Davis were finally ready for their wedding photo.

“It’s a memory I will never forget,” said Mrs Davis. “We had a lot of fun doing it and the people we met at the top were so nice and helpful in taking the photographs.”

Mrs Davis holds a lot of memories already of the Lake District since going on holiday there with her family when she was a child.

“The Lake district holds a special place in my heart,” she said. “I have fond memories from when I was a little girl. Owen and I love spending time here and exploring the fells when we get the chance.

“We would have loved to have got married here in Cumbria but all our friends and family live in London, so we thought why not do this instead.”

Mr and Mrs Davis met in London where they fell in love over their shared passion for the outdoors and thought that this particular adventure would be the best way to mark the start to their marriage.

They have a facebook page where they share some of their outdoor stories as well as providing information and advice. https://www.facebook.com/hikingcampingloversuk/
