Like many others up and down the country, I stood in a crowd on Kendal High Street while the heavens opened at the Remembrance ceremony on November 11.
The old, young and the infirm gathered, unable to see what was going on due to the amount of people, silently contemplating what we were there for, many soaked to the skin.
I have to say it made me feel very proud of our community and of those who gave their lives in order to give us the choice of whether to stand out in the rain.
It was a humbling experience.
